The breed was crossed with a now extinct mastiff-type breed called the Dog of Cordoba. The breed was developed in Argentina by Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez in the 1920's. These hounds were excellent companions and guards; they are very intelligent and easy to train. The breed is good for apartment life and they require a lot of walking and training outdoors. Puppies may sit next to a dog in a photo.
